Harlequin invests £2.2 million in state-of-the-art manufacturing facility
Posted On: 27 July 2021
We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in East Kirkby. Built on an old airfield, at an investment of £2.2 million, the facility will be capable of managing both production and delivery.
Our product range is continually expanding and includes storage tanks for oil, diesel, and water as well as tanks for sewage and septic treatment and rainwater harvesting systems. The growing demand for our sewage treatment plants and our focus on new product development has fuelled the development of this new facility. We, as a company, have always invested heavily in technology working within our customer base to determine diverse and changing needs of commercial, residential, and agricultural markets. The new facility will feature advanced rotomoulding machinery enabling us to manufacture high quality products.
We have been operating as a family-run business for over 35 years, doubling our workforce over the last five years. We currently have over 90 staff employed at our purpose-built premises in Moira. The plan is to add a further 30 employees through this new facility.
Our business has grown significantly on the back of innovation in rotationally moulded plastic storage industry and national and international demand for its growing product range of polyethylene storage tanks and systems. We are positive that the new facility will only help us grow further.
Talking about the expansion plans, Laurance Coey, our Managing Director, commented: “We have enjoyed a significant period of growth in the last five years and have ambitious plans for the future. This new facility is part of that expansion. Innovation is at the heart of our business. Our customers across the UK and internationally recognise the investment we make in continuous product development as well as the lengths our team go to provide exceptional customer service.”
